1. The contract specifications of the Eurex KOSPI Options mirror those of the KOSPI 200 Options of KRX in general. As the Eurex KOSPI Options are set up as an option but legally it is a futures contract, there are several unique characteristics that you should be aware of:
- Product type is "option on index (OINX)"
- Margining style is "futures"
- The Eurex T7 Entry Services including Multilateral and Brokerage Functionality as well as the Strategy WizardSM and all trade adjustment types are available.
- Exercise/assignment, trading of Eurex Flexible Options, automatic series generation and position adjustments are not possible.
2. The contract specifications of the Eurex Mini KOSPI Futures mirror those of the Mini KOSPI 200 Futures of KRX in general.
- The Product type is “futures on index (FINX)"
- Margining style is "futures"
- The Eurex T7 Entry Services including Multilateral and Brokerage Functionality as well as all trade adjustment types are available.
3. Moreover, both Eurex KOSPI Options and Eurex Mini KOSPI Futures have the following characteristics:
- Product currency is South Korean won (KRW)
- Settlement type is "cash"
- Series expire one day prior to the expiration on KRX.
- New series at Eurex Exchange are available in the Eurex trading session following availability at KRX.
- Submissions for give-up/take up are available. However, due to the daily expiration of the Eurex contracts, historical give-ups are not possible.
- Trade confirmations receive the transaction type 116 — "Position Close Due to Contract Expiration". The information "the position expired" can be seen in the reports Position Detail (CB010) and Position Summary (CB020).
- The end-of-day positions for the Eurex KOSPI Products are reported in the report KRX Position Information (CB741).
