Eurex
1. Introduction
With this circular, Eurex Deutschland (Eurex) is pleased to announce the opening of its markets to U.S. Introducing Brokers, effective as of 16 September 2024.
Eurex is extending its U.S. offering to include U.S. Introducing Brokers, as the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has finalized rules allowing CFTC-registered Foreign Boards of Trade, such as Eurex, additionally to onboard U.S. Introducing Brokers.
Effective date: 16 September 2024
2. Required action
Any U.S. Introducing Brokers wishing to become Eurex Participants should contact the relevant persons listed at the end of this circular.
3. Details
In July 2024, the CFTC announced finalization of amendments to Part 48 of its regulations to permit U.S. Introducing Brokers to become direct members of CFTC-registered Foreign Boards of Trade, subject to the condition that a futures commission merchant registered with the CFTC as such or a firm exempt from such registration pursuant to CFTC Regulation 30.10 acts as a clearing firm and guarantees, without limitation, all trades of the Introducing Broker effected through submission of orders for U.S. customers to the trading system. U.S. Introducing Brokers therefore become an additional category of U.S. participant that may become direct access members of Foreign Boards of Trade under CFTC Regulation 48.4. These amendments became effective on 16 September 2024.
Eurex is therefore pleased to announce that it is extending its U.S. offering to include U.S. Introducing Brokers, subject to the above clearing firm condition, as of 16 September 2024. For more information, please see:
